Tanning Tips

Exfoliate...Try using a loofa or puff with an exfoliator containing Alpha-Hydroxy and /or microbeads once a week for maximum results and great looking skin.

Avoid overexposure...If you are planning to tan, try to stay out of the sun for extended periods of time. Your tanning session is like a full day of sun, so additional outdoor exposure can lead to UV damage.

Photosensitizing medications can be found in acne medications, antibacterials, antibiotics, anti-cancer drugs, antidepressants, antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, antiparasitics, antipsychotic drugs/tranqilizers, anti-seizure drugs, hypoglycemics, and psoralen medications. Please tell our staff if you are taking a medication from one of these categories.

Use SPF on your lips...particularly if you are prone to cold sores. Uv can bring on or aggravate cold sores so it is important to protect your lips.

Apply lotion...tan faster and more efficiently using an indoor tanning lotion.

Protect sensitive skin areas...gradually introduce areas than never really see the sun.

Take anti-oxidants...Vitamins such as Vitamin A, C and E and Beta Carotene help your skin repair itself and provide nutritional support to skin receiving UV exposure.

Care for tattoos and piercings
Tattoos need to be protected from UV exposure or they will fade. Newly forming scars, either from piercings or injuries, are also particularly sensitive to UV. We recommend using a total block, such as SPF 30 on tattoos always, and on forming scars until they are fully healed.
